Muscogee (Creek) Nation 8th Annual Doing Business in Indian Country Conference

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation District Court presents the 8th Annual "Doing Business in Indian Country" Conference, scheduled for May 20th and 21st, 2010, at the River Spirit Event Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This event is co-sponsored by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Supreme Court and the Muscogee (Creek) National Council.

The conference will cover a range of topics pertinent to business operations within Indian Country. Day one will focus on areas such as sovereignty, ethics, land use and trust rights, the latest developments in Indian law, and tribal water rights. Day two will delve into Indian gaming issues, including discussions on Class II and Class III games, as well as entertainment aspects related to gaming.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a distinguished faculty, including George Skibine, Acting Chair of the National Indian Gaming Commission; Larry Echohawk, Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs (pending confirmation); Judith V. Royster, Professor of Law at the University of Tulsa; Dr. Alan Meister from Nathan and Associates; John Williams of Connors and Winters LLP; Richard Monette from the University of Wisconsin; Kathleen Smith from the University of Oklahoma; and Klint Cowen of Hobbs, Straus, Dean & Walker.
