The Fall Meeting of the Law Librarians of New England (LLNE) is an annual conference that brings together law librarians and information professionals from the New England region. Organized by LLNE, the 2024 Fall Meeting was held on October 25th at the McKernan Center in South Portland, Maine. The conference focused on "The Role of Law Libraries in the Age of AI," addressing the impact of artificial intelligence on law librarianship and legal research.
The event featured a series of presentations and discussions on how AI is reshaping law libraries. Attendees gained valuable insights into integrating AI technologies effectively and identifying potential challenges. The agenda included engaging speakers and sessions that explored the evolving role of law libraries in the digital age.
In addition to the conference sessions, attendees had the opportunity to participate in special events. A Dutch treat dinner was organized at North43 Bistro, offering scenic views and a diverse menu. A limited group of attendees joined a visit to the Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse during lunch, providing a unique experience and networking opportunity.

Margaret Hagan

Margaret Hagan is a Fellow at the Center on the Legal Profession at Stanford Law School and a Lecturer at the Stanford Institute of Design (d.school). While a student at Stanford Law, she built Law Dojo to make studying for law school classes more interactive. She also started the blog Open Law Lab, which was chosen as one of the top 100 legal sites by the ABA Journal in 2014. While a fellow at the d.school, she launched the Legal Design Initiative, experimenting in how design can make legal services more usable, useful, and engaging.
