The "Seeking Social Justice in South Asia" conference, organized by the Center for South Asian Studies at the University of Michigan, took place on September 22-23, 2017. Key topics covered during the conference included religious and ethnic polarization, gender and sexuality issues, caste politics, minority rights, urbanization and displacement, and media and information access. Presentations focused on these issues within the contexts of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, providing both national and regional perspectives on the challenges and efforts related to social justice.
