Global Legal Hackathon 2018
The Global Legal Hackathon 2018 was a pioneering event that united the legal industry with technology and innovation across more than 40 cities in 22 countries. This inaugural hackathon aimed to rapidly develop solutions to enhance the practice of law and improve access to legal services worldwide. Participants included law firms, corporations, legal technology companies, law schools, and government entities, all collaborating to drive legal innovation.
Key themes of the event focused on leveraging emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things to address challenges within the legal sector. Teams worked intensively over a 54-hour period to create prototypes and proposals that could transform legal processes, improve efficiency, and make legal services more accessible to the public.
The hackathon provided extensive networking opportunities, bringing together a diverse group of legal professionals, technologists, and entrepreneurs. Notable industry leaders and experts served as mentors and judges, offering guidance and evaluating the innovative solutions developed during the event. The final round took place in New York City on April 21, 2018, where 14 teams from six continents presented their concepts to a global panel of judges.
The Global Legal Hackathon 2018 was ideal for legal professionals, technologists, entrepreneurs, and students passionate about driving change in the legal industry. Attendees had the opportunity to collaborate on groundbreaking projects, gain insights into the latest legal technologies, and contribute to shaping the future of legal services.
