The International Institute of Communications (IIC) hosted its 50th Annual Conference on October 9-10, 2019, in London, UK. This milestone event brought together global experts from the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors to discuss the evolving landscape of communications and its societal impacts.
Key topics addressed during the conference included the implications of telco, media, OTT, and digital convergence; strategies for balancing the exponential growth of the digital economy with societal and cultural considerations; and the challenges faced by regulators in adapting to rapid technological changes. The conference featured a combination of keynotes, panel debates, and focused breakout discussions covering themes such as innovation and investment, governance, content futures, competition policy, spectrum management, and privacy, safety, and security.
In addition to the main sessions, the conference offered workshops, networking events, and private meetings, enabling delegates to form or renew lasting relationships with peers from around the world.
