INTA Annual Meeting 2019

by International Trademark Association (INTA)

The International Trademark Association (INTA) hosted its 141st Annual Meeting from May 18 to 22, 2019, at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts. This premier event brought together over 11,360 brand owners, trademark practitioners, and intellectual property professionals from 154 countries, marking it as the largest gathering in INTA's history.

The meeting featured more than 300 educational sessions covering a wide array of topics, including the latest developments in trademark law, brand protection strategies, and the impact of emerging technologies on intellectual property. A notable session focused on INTA's attitudinal study, "Gen Z Insights: Brands and Counterfeit Products," which explored the purchasing behaviors of Generation Z concerning authentic and counterfeit goods.

Attendees had ample opportunities for networking through various receptions, luncheons, and the Exhibition Hall, which showcased 162 exhibitors presenting the latest innovations and services in the field. The event also emphasized corporate social responsibility, with initiatives such as assembling bikes for local children, packing food for The Greater Boston Food Bank, and educating high school students about the importance of intellectual property rights.

The INTA Annual Meeting is essential for brand owners, legal professionals, and policymakers seeking to stay abreast of global trends in trademark law and to connect with peers from around the world. The 2019 event underscored the critical role of intellectual property in fostering consumer trust, economic growth, and innovation.
