SEALS Annual Conference 2019

by Southeastern Association of Law Schools (SEALS)

The Southeastern Association of Law Schools (SEALS) Annual Conference is a premier gathering for legal educators, scholars, and practitioners, organized by SEALS, a regional association of law schools. The 2019 conference took place from July 28 to August 3 at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Florida.

The conference featured a diverse array of panels, workshops, and discussion groups covering a wide range of legal topics. Notable sessions included the "Supreme Court and Legislative Update: Business and Regulatory Issues," which provided insights into significant cases from the Supreme Court's October 2018 term. Additionally, the "New Scholars Workshop" offered newer faculty the opportunity to present works in progress and receive feedback from mentors and peers.

Attendees had ample opportunities for networking through various receptions, luncheons, and informal gatherings. The conference also hosted a "Book Publishers Symposium: How to Pitch a Book," where participants could learn about the publishing process and present their book proposals to academic press editors.

The SEALS Annual Conference is ideal for legal educators, scholars, and practitioners seeking to stay abreast of developments in legal education and scholarship. It provides a platform for presenting research, engaging in professional development, and building connections within the legal academic community.
