The 22nd Annual Federalist Society Faculty Conference, organized by the Federalist Society, took place on January 3-4, 2020, in Washington, D.C. This event convened legal scholars and practitioners to discuss and debate various legal topics and issues.
The conference featured panels on Originalism and Stare Decisis, corporate governance, and the Fourth Amendment. Additionally, winners of the Young Legal Scholars Paper Competition presented their papers, and attendees received feedback on works in progress. The annual luncheon debate addressed the electoral college.
Notable speakers included Michael S. McGinniss, Professor of Law at the University of North Dakota School of Law; Barbara Mouly, Associate Professor of Law at Liberty University School of Law; and Dwight Newman, Professor and Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Rights in Constitutional and International Law at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law. The event provided ample networking opportunities for legal scholars and practitioners.
This conference was particularly beneficial for legal academics, practitioners, and students interested in constitutional law, legal theory, and current legal issues. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with leading scholars, present their research, and participate in discussions on pressing legal topics.
