by The Sedona Conference

The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 (WG1) 2020 Annual Meeting is an online event organized by The Sedona Conference, a nonpartisan, nonprofit research and educational institute dedicated to advancing law and policy in areas such as antitrust law, complex litigation, intellectual property rights, and data security and privacy law. This annual meeting focuses on electronic document retention and production, bringing together legal professionals to discuss and develop best practices in eDiscovery.

The 2020 meeting will cover key topics including the social, technological, and ethical challenges of electronic evidence in criminal cases. Sessions will explore issues related to electronically stored information (ESI) from various sources such as 911 calls, police body cameras, surveillance footage, social media, and geolocation records. Participants will engage in dialogues addressing the complexities and implications of utilizing such ESI in legal proceedings.

Attendees will have opportunities to participate in interactive sessions designed to replicate the dialogue-focused format of in-person meetings. The event will feature discussions led by experienced professionals, including judges and legal experts, providing insights into current challenges and developments in eDiscovery. This format encourages active participation and exchange of ideas among peers.

This meeting is ideal for legal practitioners, including attorneys, judges, and eDiscovery professionals, who are involved in the management and production of electronic documents. Participants will gain valuable knowledge on emerging issues in eDiscovery, enhance their understanding of best practices, and contribute to the development of guidelines that address the evolving landscape of electronic evidence.
