ChemCareers 2021: Patents for Chemists - Protecting Your Invention
ChemCareers 2021: Patents for Chemists - Protecting Your Invention is a webinar organized by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) in collaboration with Abel + Imray. This event aims to provide chemists with essential insights into patent protection for their inventions.
The webinar will cover key topics such as the fundamentals of patents, their relevance to chemists, and the process of patenting an invention. It will also delve into considerations like identifying inventors, determining patent ownership, and practical aspects of exploiting and licensing patented inventions.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from expert speakers, including Dr. Tom Turner, a European and Chartered UK Patent Attorney and Partner at Abel + Imray, and Dr. Katy Pellow, a trainee Patent Attorney at Abel + Imray. The session will be chaired by Laura Woodward, Career and Professional Development Adviser at the Royal Society of Chemistry.
This webinar is particularly beneficial for chemists seeking to understand how to protect their ideas and maximize the benefits from their inventions through adequate patent protection.
