The ESCB Legal Conference 2022, organized by the European Central Bank (ECB), took place online on 5 and 6 September 2022. This annual event convened legal scholars and practitioners to discuss a broad range of legal topics pertinent to the European System of Central Banks (ESCB).

Key topics covered during the conference included the transformation of legal practice through visualization and legal design thinking, legal and financial aspects of monetary policy operations with non-banks, and the legal interoperability of retail central bank digital currencies from a comparative law perspective. Other sessions addressed the ECB's internal review procedures for contract award decisions, the relevance of the General Data Protection Regulation for banking supervision, and the division of responsibilities between the ECB and national competent authorities concerning anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing.
