FJC-BCLT IP Education Program for Federal Judges

by Berkeley Center for Law & Technology

The FJC-BCLT IP Education Program for Federal Judges is an annual seminar designed to provide federal judges with comprehensive training in intellectual property law. Organized collaboratively by the Federal Judicial Center (FJC) and the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology (BCLT), this program has been a cornerstone of judicial education in IP law for over two decades.

The program covers a wide array of topics, including patent law, copyright law, trademark law, and trade secrets. Sessions are led by esteemed faculty from Berkeley Law, experienced judges, and leading practitioners, offering both foundational knowledge and advanced insights into managing IP cases effectively.

In addition to lectures, the program features interactive components such as case studies, panel discussions, and simulations, providing judges with practical tools for adjudicating complex IP disputes. Notable speakers often include federal judges and prominent scholars in the field.

This program is specifically tailored for federal judges seeking to enhance their understanding of intellectual property law and improve their case management skills in this rapidly evolving area.
