5th Annual BIICL/Linklaters Tech Antitrust Roundtable

The 5th Annual BIICL/Linklaters Tech Antitrust Roundtable, held on 20 November 2023, was a collaborative event organized by the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) and Linklaters LLP. This roundtable convened leading officials, academics, economists, and senior business leaders from the digital sector to engage in open and constructive discussions on key issues in technology regulation and enforcement.
The event featured a keynote speech by Kate Jones, Chief Executive Officer of the UK's Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum. Two panel discussions were held: the first addressed the evolving landscape of platform regulation in the EU and UK, focusing on the role of economics in enforcing new regimes; the second explored innovation and contestability in digital markets, considering historical lessons for future challenges such as artificial intelligence and interoperability.
Notable speakers included Robin Finer, Economics Director at Ofcom; Professor Amelia Fletcher CBE, Non-Executive Director at the Competition and Markets Authority; and Jessica Rusu, Chief Data, Information & Intelligence Officer at the Financial Conduct Authority. The event concluded with a drinks reception, providing attendees with networking opportunities to discuss insights and foster professional connections.
