Notable speakers include Australian Information and Privacy Commissioner Angelene Falk, who will deliver a keynote launch in Sydney. The events will also provide opportunities for networking and discussions on privacy developments and challenges.

Adam Ford is the Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand at the IAPP. He has contributed to various IAPP events and publications, focusing on privacy developments and trends in the Asia-Pacific region.

Angelene Falk

Australian Information Commissioner at Office of the Australian Information Commissioner

Angelene Falk was appointed Australian Information Commissioner and Privacy Commissioner in August 2018. She leads the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in fulfilling its functions across privacy, freedom of information, and government information management. Ms. Falk has held senior positions in the OAIC since 2012 and has extensive experience addressing regulatory challenges and opportunities presented by rapidly evolving technology and data uses.

Anna Johnston

Director of Market Strategy and Client Development at Helios Salinger

Anna Johnston is one of Australia’s most respected experts in privacy law and practice. In 2004, she founded Salinger Privacy, which in 2024 became Helios Salinger, offering privacy, data governance, and AI services across consulting, training, and resources. Anna is an IAPP Westin Emeritus Fellow and Senior Fellow, Global Privacy at the Future of Privacy Forum in Washington DC.

Claire Knight-Whiting

General Manager, Legal, Global Privacy at Xero

Claire is an internationally experienced privacy lawyer with over 15 years of experience working for global companies on privacy, data protection, cyber, and data governance. After a decade overseas, she returned to New Zealand and now leads a team as GM - Privacy & AI Governance at Xero, a global SaaS company providing accounting software to small businesses worldwide. Claire also serves on IAPP's ANZ Advisory Board.

Elizabeth Le Breton

Data Privacy Officer at HSBC Australia

Elizabeth is the Data Privacy Officer for HSBC Australia, covering retail, wholesale, and commercial businesses. She specializes in privacy, data protection, technology-enhancing tools, financial services regulation, investigations, and law reform. Elizabeth previously worked in investment banking in Hong Kong, advising on various financial transactions and regulatory matters across the APAC region.

J. Trevor Hughes

President and CEO at IAPP

J. Trevor Hughes is the president and CEO of the IAPP, the professional home for privacy, AI governance, and digital responsibility globally. João Barreiro

Chief Privacy Officer at BeiGene

João Barreiro is the Chief Privacy Officer at BeiGene. He has held past privacy roles at the European Medicines Agency, IBM, and Celgene (BMS). João is a co-author of several publications, including the IAPP book 'Privacy Program Management' and 'The Role of Privacy in ESG Explained.' He serves on the IAPP Research Advisory Board and European Advisory Board.

Kelly Henney

Kelly Henney is a Partner and National Head of Privacy and Data Protection at KPMG. She is a legal practitioner with over 20 years of experience across various industries, including insurance, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, banking, and government agencies. Kelly has extensive experience managing data privacy risk in complex transactions, data breach response, and regulatory investigations throughout the Asia Pacific.

Malcolm Crompton

Founder and Partner at IIS Partners

Malcolm Crompton AM is Founder and Partner at IIS Partners, a consultancy specializing in data protection and privacy strategies. He was Australia’s Privacy Commissioner from 1999 to 2004, leading the implementation of the nation’s first broad-based private sector privacy law. Malcolm has been a member of advisory bodies around the world, including the EU, OECD, APEC, and large global companies.

Mark Thompson

Chief Strategy Officer at IAPP

Mark acts as Chief Strategy Officer at the IAPP. Prior to joining the IAPP, Mark was Global Lead for Privacy Advisory at KPMG, specializing in providing privacy-related support to global clients. He has supported over 100 organizations on their privacy journeys, ranging from small start-ups to global 100 organizations.
