The Innovations in Technology Conference (ITC) is an annual event organized by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) to explore and promote technological advancements that enhance access to justice for low-income individuals. In 2023, the conference was held in Phoenix, Arizona, marking its return to an in-person format after two years of virtual gatherings.
The 2023 conference featured over 40 workshops covering a wide array of topics, including innovations prompted by the pandemic, emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, methods for delivering efficient legal services, and strategies to support pro bono engagement. Sessions also addressed cybersecurity concerns and discussed regulatory reforms impacting the legal sector.
Attendees had opportunities to engage in networking sessions, participate in hands-on workshops, and hear from notable speakers such as Everett Harper, CEO and Co-Founder of Truss. The event also included livestreamed sessions to accommodate a broader audience.
The conference attracted nearly 600 participants, including technologists, legal aid advocates, court personnel, pro bono coordinators, and other professionals from 48 states, five U.S. territories, and Canada, all committed to leveraging technology to improve legal services for underserved communities.
