Trust in the Digital Decade - Making sure technology serves EU citizens

The "Trust in the Digital Decade - Making sure technology serves EU citizens" event was organized by EURACTIV in collaboration with GIGAEurope. Held on June 21, 2021, this online event aimed to explore how technology can be harnessed to serve European citizens effectively.

Panel discussions included Lorena Boix Alonso, Director of Digital Society, Trust & Cybersecurity at DG CONNECT, European Commission; Brando Benifei MEP, Member of the AIDA Committee, European Parliament; David Stevens, President of the Belgian Data Protection Authority; Manuel Kohnstamm, GIGAEurope Co-Chairman and Senior Vice President at Liberty Global; and Joakim Reiter, GIGAEurope Co-Chairman and Executive Committee Member at Vodafone Group. The discussions were moderated by Brian Maguire, a journalist at EURACTIV.

The event's agenda included a welcome address, the keynote speech, panellist statements, a discussion and Q&A session, and closing statements. The discussions focused on the role of trust in empowering Europeans to access and benefit from the fast-changing digital world.
