The "Webinar for Hainan and Hong Kong Lawyers" was jointly organized by the Hainan Lawyers Association and The Law Society of Hong Kong. Held on February 28, 2024, the event focused on strengthening exchanges and cooperation to achieve mutual development between legal professionals in Hainan and Hong Kong. Over 300 lawyers from both regions participated in this collaborative initiative.

Key topics included the extensive experience of Hong Kong lawyers in handling cross-border and multilateral legal issues, aligning with the Mainland's need for foreign-related legal expertise. The webinar featured keynote speeches from Mr. Tong Cheng, Director of Hainan Lawyers Work Bureau, and Mr. Raymond Yip, Chief Representative of Hainan International Economic Development Bureau in Hong Kong. Seasoned lawyers from both regions shared insights during thematic sessions.

Notable speakers from Hong Kong included Dr. Thomas So, Chairman of eBRAM International Online Dispute Resolution Centre; Careen Wong, Council Member and Chairlady of the Standing Committee on Standards & Development; Neville Cheng, Council Member and Vice-Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (GCLAC); and GCLAC Members Daniel Leung and William Ling. The event was moderated by GCLAC Member Stanley Chan and Ms. He Liuqing, Director of the Foreign-related and Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Professional Committee of the Hainan Lawyers Association.

This webinar was particularly beneficial for legal professionals interested in cross-border legal practices and those seeking to enhance collaboration between Hainan and Hong Kong. It provided a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and exploring opportunities for mutual growth in the legal sector.
