The ASEAN Green Jobs Forum (AGJF) 2025, held on August 27–28, 2025, in Putrajaya, Malaysia, was a pivotal event organized by Malaysia's Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), with support from the ASEAN Secretariat and the Australian Government through the Aus4ASEAN Futures Initiative. This forum served as a high-level platform to highlight green growth opportunities and workforce transformation across the ASEAN region.
Under the theme "AI, Digitalisation and Green Jobs: Future-Proofing Skills and Talents for ASEAN," the forum focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence, digitalization, and the green economy. Key sessions included high-level dialogues with ministers and policymakers, thematic panels on green value chains in sectors like agriculture, transport, and energy, and discussions on corporate strategies for green transitions and financing innovations. The forum also addressed the importance of a just transition, emphasizing inclusive safeguards for marginalized communities.
In addition to the main forum, the ASEAN Green Jobs Fair was held from August 28 to 30, 2025, at the IOI Grand Exhibition Centre in Putrajaya. This fair featured around 50 employers offering over 5,000 job opportunities in sectors such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and electric mobility. Concurrently, the ASEAN Green Skills Fair 2025 took place at the IOI Grand Convention Centre, focusing on green skills development and targeting students, industry workers, educational institutions, and the general public.
The AGJF 2025 was designed for policymakers, industry leaders, educators, and social partners interested in aligning green skills development with technological transformation and regional job creation.
