The In-Person Seoul KnowledgeNet, scheduled for September 15, 2025, is organized by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). This event will take place at the Kim & Chang Conference Hall in the Crescendo Building, located at 75 Saemunan-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Korea. It offers privacy professionals an opportunity to engage in discussions on pressing topics in the field.
The central theme of the event is "Call to Action for Privacy, AI and Digital Responsibility Professionals: Managing Risks and Seizing Opportunity." The session will delve into the complexities arising from the intersection of privacy, AI governance, cybersecurity law, content moderation, intellectual property, and competition. Attendees will explore how leading organizations and economies are addressing these challenges while capitalizing on opportunities in the evolving digital landscape.
The event will feature opening remarks from J. Trevor Hughes, President and CEO of IAPP; Jin Wook Kim, Commissioner of PIPC Korea; and Jae-Hwan Lee, Vice President of the Korean Bar Association and President of the In-House Counsel Association. A panel discussion will include Joe Jones, Director of Research and Insights at IAPP; Julie Brill, former Corporate Vice President of Global Tech and Regulatory Affairs at Microsoft; Jeonggyu Kim, Vice President of Legal Group 3 at Hyundai Motor Group; and Jenny Lee, Senior Correspondent at MLex Market Insight. The session will be moderated by Hyekyung Kang, Research Professor at Korea University, and Kyoungsic Min, Privacy Counsel at VeraSafe.
Following the panel discussion, there will be a networking session, providing attendees with the chance to connect with peers and industry leaders. The event will be conducted in English and is eligible for 1.0 Continuing Privacy Education (CPE) credit for certifications including CIPP/A, CIPP/C, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, and CIPT.
