19th Annual Works-in-Progress (WIP) Conference

The 19th Annual Works-in-Progress (WIP) Conference, organized by the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Section on Alternative Dispute Resolution, is scheduled for September 24-26, 2026, at the University of Missouri School of Law. This conference serves as a platform for dispute resolution scholars, educators, and practitioners to present and receive feedback on their scholarly projects in a collegial environment. Participants are encouraged to submit works at any stage of development, from preliminary ideas to full drafts, fostering a collaborative atmosphere for academic growth.

The conference agenda includes a welcome dinner on Thursday evening, followed by two full days of presentations and discussions on Friday and Saturday. For those interested in presenting, the conference offers the possibility of early acceptance for publication in the University of Missouri’s Journal of Dispute Resolution. Presenters at the full draft stage by August 1 may have their work considered for the Summer 2027 edition. Additionally, the conference provides four $500 travel and lodging grants to assist first-time attendees, with a preference for junior scholars.
