2nd European Scientific Legal Tech Summit

The 2nd European Scientific Legal Tech Summit is scheduled for March 26 and 27, 2026, at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). Organized by WU's Legal Tech Center in collaboration with the OEFG working group on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights and ICON.S Austria, this summit aims to unite international scholars to explore the theme "genAI in legal practice," with a particular emphasis on fundamental rights perspectives.

The summit will feature a series of panels and keynote addresses covering a range of topics. Key sessions include discussions on private law as a framework for bias mitigation in generative AI, fundamental rights impact assessments for genAI in legal practice, and the influence of the AI Act on the use of genAI by judges. Additionally, panels will delve into AI literacy and professional liability, the legal validity of benchmarking in the LLM industry, and leveraging AI to address access to justice issues.

Attendees will have opportunities to engage in workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions. Notable speakers include Roger Brownsword from King's College London, who will deliver a keynote on the role of human rights in regulating technology, and Lyra Jakulevičienė from Mykolo Romerio University, Lithuania, addressing AI, business, and human rights.

This summit is ideal for legal professionals, academics, policymakers, and technologists interested in the intersection of artificial intelligence and legal practice.
