Elder Law Institute 2026

The Elder Law Institute 2026, organized by the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (MassNAELA), is a comprehensive full-day program dedicated to advancing the practice of elder law. This annual event brings together legal professionals to explore critical issues affecting the elderly and individuals with special needs.

This year's institute, titled "Home Sweet Home: IIOTs to Estate Recovery," will cover a range of pertinent topics. Sessions will delve into best practices for using Irrevocable Income-Only Trusts (IIOTs), tax and title considerations in real estate transfers, MassHealth application processes involving IIOTs and life estates, various forms of real estate ownership for Medicaid planning, and strategies for dealing with real estate liens and estate recovery.
