Forum on Increasing Access to Justice & Justice in Action Reception

The Forum on Increasing Access to Justice & Justice in Action Reception is an event organized by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) to address critical issues related to civil legal aid and access to justice. Held in Louisville, Kentucky, on July 20, 2026, the forum brought together leaders from the business, legal, and public sectors to discuss strategies for enhancing economic opportunities, supporting recovery, and strengthening communities through second-chance employment initiatives and the removal of legal barriers.

The forum featured discussions on recovery, reentry, and opportunity in Kentucky, focusing on how legal services can aid individuals in overcoming challenges and accessing essential resources. The event also highlighted the importance of collaboration among various sectors to create a more inclusive and equitable society.

The Justice in Action Reception and Award Ceremony, held later that evening, recognized and celebrated individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to strengthening access to justice and opportunity throughout Kentucky. This reception provided an opportunity for attendees to network, share experiences, and honor the efforts of those dedicated to advancing justice in the community.

The event was free to attend and was held in partnership with Appalachian Research and Defense Fund (AppalReD Legal Aid), Kentucky Legal Aid, Legal Aid of the Bluegrass, and Legal Aid Society. Both in-person and virtual attendance options were available, allowing a diverse audience to participate in the discussions and celebrations.
