2026 Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution Meeting

by Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution

The Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution (GCDR) is a policy-making body appointed by the Georgia Supreme Court to oversee the development of court-connected Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) programs in Georgia. The Commission comprises judges, lawyers, and non-lawyer members who convene regularly to address issues pertinent to the advancement of ADR within the state's judiciary.

The GCDR's meetings typically include standing committee reports covering areas such as Budget and Personnel, Ethics, Training and Credentials, Outreach, and Domestic Violence Rules. Special committee reports, like those from the Judicially Hosted Settlement Conference Working Group, are also presented. Additionally, the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution (GODR) provides updates on strategic projects and upcoming conferences. For instance, the GODR reported on the ADR Institute and strategic projects during the December 10, 2025 meeting.

Meetings are open to the public and are typically held on Wednesdays from 2 to 4 pm in Room 1 at the State Bar of Georgia Conference Center, located at 104 Marietta St. NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30303. Parking is free for Georgia Bar members. Upcoming 2026 meeting dates include February 25 (in-person), May 13 (virtual), August 19 (virtual), and December 9 (in-person).

The GCDR meetings are primarily intended for members of the legal community, including judges, attorneys, and ADR professionals, as well as individuals interested in the development and implementation of ADR programs in Georgia. Attending these meetings provides an opportunity to stay informed about ADR initiatives, participate in discussions on policy developments, and contribute to the evolution of dispute resolution practices within the state's judicial system.
