The 44th Annual Course of the International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) is scheduled to take place from September 13 to 16, 2026, in Cambridge, England. Hosted by the Squire Law Library at the University of Cambridge, this event brings together legal information professionals from around the world to discuss and explore current issues in law librarianship and legal information management.
The conference will focus on various public law topics, including recent constitutional developments in the UK, particularly in the context of the Brexit referendum of 2016. Additionally, it will address broader issues in European and international law, as well as themes related to libraries, legal information, and the impact of artificial intelligence on the legal sector.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a pre-conference workshop titled "From Evidence to Influence: Packaging Research for Parliamentary Impact," led by Claire Sewell, Head of the Research Information Service at the House of Commons Library. The program also includes guided tours of historic libraries such as the University Library, Squire Law Library, Wren Library at Trinity College, and Parker Library at Corpus Christi College. Social events include an opening reception at the Graduate by Hilton Cambridge Hotel and the Annual Dinner at St John's College's 16th-century dining hall.
This course is ideal for law librarians, legal information specialists, and professionals interested in the intersection of law and technology. It offers a platform to engage with experts, gain insights into current legal information trends, and network with peers in the historic and academic setting of Cambridge.
