Junior Scholars Conference

by Northeastern University School of Law

The Junior Scholars Conference is an annual event hosted by Northeastern University School of Law, designed to provide a collaborative platform for junior faculty members, including fellows and visiting assistant professors (VAPs), with less than seven years of full-time teaching experience. The conference aims to foster engagement among peers in a supportive and collegial environment.

The conference features three main components: substantive paper presentations organized by topic, accompanied by question-and-answer sessions; panels discussing various aspects of law teaching careers, such as hiring processes, tenure and promotion, career advancement, and life within law schools; and dedicated time for socializing and networking among attendees.

Participants can expect opportunities to connect with fellow junior scholars, share research, and gain insights into career development within academia. The event is co-sponsored by Northeastern Law’s Center for Law, Information and Creativity (CLIC), reflecting the institution's commitment to supporting emerging legal educators.

This conference is particularly beneficial for junior faculty members seeking to enhance their academic careers, receive constructive feedback on their work, and build professional relationships within the legal education community.
