LegalEdCon 2026 is an annual conference dedicated to legal education and training, organized by Legal Cheek. Held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Kings Place in London, the event brought together learning and development teams, graduate recruitment specialists from over 150 leading law firms, and academics from universities across the UK. The conference featured a new breakout session format, allowing a greater range of topics to be covered, including trainee solicitor recruitment in the age of AI, junior lawyer burnout, and media training for early talent teams.
The conference schedule was divided into four themes: Prepared for Practice, Recruitment, Academic, and Practical. Delegates had the opportunity to attend various sessions, such as "Beyond the hype: What trainee lawyers need to understand about AI," "TC recruitment in the AI age," "Solicitor apprentices share their stories," and "Junior lawyer burnout: what’s behind it, and how can you avoid it?" The day concluded with a keynote address by Alexander Kardos-Nyheim, founder and CEO of Safe Sign Technologies, who shared his journey from trainee solicitor to AI entrepreneur.
Throughout the day, attendees had ample networking opportunities during breakfast, coffee breaks, lunch, and post-conference drinks beside the Regent’s Canal. The event also featured The Legal Cheek Awards 2026, celebrating achievements in the legal education and training sector. The conference was headline sponsored by BPP University Law School, BARBRI, and The University of Law, with The College of Legal Practice as a silver sponsor.
LegalEdCon 2026 was designed for legal academics and professionals involved in learning and development and graduate recruitment at law firms. It provided a platform for sharing insights, discussing challenges, and exploring innovations in legal education and training, making it a valuable event for those looking to stay informed and connected in the evolving legal landscape.
