National Aging & Law Conference 2026
The 2026 National Aging & Law Conference, themed "The Right to Age Well: Advancing Law, Equity, and Human Dignity," is scheduled for October 9 and 10, 2026, at the Syracuse University College of Law in Syracuse, New York. Organized by the American Bar Association Commission on Law and Aging, this conference aims to unite legal practitioners, thought leaders, and advocates to discuss and promote the rights of individuals to age with dignity and respect.
The conference will delve into a range of topics pertinent to aging and law, including evolving legal, policy, ethical, and practical issues affecting older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, and the professionals who serve them. Sessions will cover subjects such as changing demographics, federal and state policy reforms, health care systems, guardianship law, housing instability, immigration policy, and interdisciplinary practice models, all focusing on how these factors are reshaping laws, policies, and practices.
Attendees will have opportunities to engage in networking events, including a special law-student-focused session track on Saturday, October 9, accompanied by a networking breakfast. Law students who are ABA members and interested in attending Saturday only can do so for $25. Meals, including a sit-down conference dinner on Friday, are included with registration.
