Navigating the Legal Crossroads Between Consensus and the Greater Good

by International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA)

The event "Navigating the Legal Crossroads Between Consensus and the Greater Good" is a collaborative conference organized by the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA). Scheduled from June 25 to 27, 2026, in Helsinki, Finland, this event brings together three of AIJA's Commissions: International Arbitration, Labour and Immigration Law, and Insolvency. The conference aims to explore the interplay between these legal fields in a global context, fostering discussions on current developments and challenges.

The conference features three distinct tracks, each dedicated to one of the organizing Commissions. The International Arbitration track will address topics such as the limits and obstacles to arbitration, focusing on issues like arbitrability, jurisdictional objections, and challenges to the validity of arbitral awards. The Labour and Immigration Law track will delve into recent trends, including crisis management, digitalization, globalization, flexibility, arbitration in employment disputes, and confidentiality. The Insolvency track will examine developments and trends shaping the future of insolvency and corporate rehabilitation, particularly in light of recent global economic challenges.

In addition to the academic sessions, the event offers ample networking opportunities, including a welcome reception at the Clarion Hotel Helsinki Skyroom, optional dinners at selected restaurants, and an afterparty at Kaarle XII. These social events are designed to facilitate connections among legal professionals from around the world, enhancing the collaborative spirit of the conference.

This conference is ideal for legal practitioners specializing in arbitration, labor and immigration law, and insolvency. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the latest developments in these fields, engage in meaningful discussions with peers, and experience the unique cultural and professional environment of Helsinki during the Midsummer season.
