NYU Stern Bankruptcy Workshop 2026

by Altman-Paulson Initiative on Corporate & Distressed Opportunities

The NYU Stern Workshop on Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy is a three-day in-person program organized by the Altman-Paulson Initiative on Corporate & Distressed Opportunities. This workshop offers young professionals a unique opportunity to learn how to navigate corporate distress and bankruptcy from thought leaders across multiple disciplines in the corporate restructuring and bankruptcy communities.

The workshop combines a seminar format with the use of case studies presented by leading financial and legal practitioners. Participants will gain the required financial, credit, and legal skills necessary to navigate out-of-court and in-court restructuring processes. Additionally, attendees are provided with an in-depth resource guide of supplemental materials prepared specifically for the workshop.

The faculty is led by Professor Dan Kamensky and Professor Edward Altman, Emeritus, together with leading practitioners in the restructuring field. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from the NYU Stern School of Business.

The workshop targets lawyers, bankers, and investors interested in an in-depth analysis of restructuring and bankruptcy topics. Past participants have come from financial firms including Fidelity Investments, Franklin Mutual Advisors, Houlihan Lokey, Oaktree, and law firms including Brown Rudnick, Debevoise, and McDermott, among others.
