The Symposium on Diversity and Inclusion, organized by The Law Society of Hong Kong, is a pivotal event dedicated to exploring and promoting diversity within the legal profession. This year's symposium, titled "First, But Not Last: Women Leaders Reimagining Justice in Asia," will take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lecture Theatre 1, Henry Cheng International Conference Centre, located on the first floor of the Cheng Yu Tung Building at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shatin, New Territories, Hong Kong. The venue is conveniently situated just a three-minute walk from the University Station.

The symposium will feature a distinguished panel of speakers who have broken significant barriers in the legal field. The panel includes The Right Honourable Tun Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat, the first female Chief Justice of Malaysia (2019-2025); Dr. the Honourable Elsie Leung Oi-sie, GBM, JP, the first female Secretary for Justice of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (1997-2005); and Ms. Melissa Pang, BBS, MH, JP, the first female President of The Law Society of Hong Kong (2018-2021). The discussion will be moderated by Mr. Roden Tong, President of The Law Society of Hong Kong.

Attendees will have the opportunity to gain insights from these trailblazing women leaders as they share their experiences and perspectives on reimagining justice in Asia. The event also offers a platform for networking with peers and engaging in meaningful conversations about advancing diversity and inclusion within the legal sector.

Legal professionals interested in attending should note that the symposium offers 1 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) point. Registration begins at 6:00 p.m., and early arrival is recommended to secure seating.
