The Sedona Conference Working Group 12 Annual Meeting 2026 is a premier event dedicated to advancing the study and practice of trade secret law. Organized by The Sedona Conference, a nonpartisan, nonprofit research and educational institute, this meeting brings together legal professionals, scholars, and industry experts to engage in meaningful dialogue and contribute to the development of consensus-based publications.
The 2026 meeting will focus on several key drafting projects, including topics such as Artificial Intelligence and Trade Secrets, Protecting Trade Secrets Outside the US, Developing an Effective "Incident Response Plan" When Trade Secret Disputes Begin, Trade Secret Guidance for Employees Who Change Jobs, and Criminal Trade Secret Law and Practice. These sessions aim to gather member comments and advance these projects toward public comment and publication.
In addition to the drafting sessions, the meeting will feature a Judicial Roundtable with esteemed judicial advisors, an In-house Roundtable with corporate attorneys specializing in trade secrets, and a panel discussion updating attendees on the Uniform Law Commission’s Drafting Committee's work on updates to the Uniform Trade Secrets Act. These sessions provide valuable insights and foster collaborative discussions among participants.
Legal professionals, including attorneys, judges, and scholars with an interest in trade secret law, are encouraged to attend. Participation offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of influential legal publications, engage with peers and experts in the field, and stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in trade secret law.
