Fifth National People of Color Legal Scholarship Conference

The Fifth National People of Color Legal Scholarship Conference, themed "Justice by Design: Interdisciplinary and Intersectional Responses to Race, Law, and Innovation," is scheduled for March 18-21, 2027, at Seattle University School of Law. This biennial event, held once every eight to ten years, serves as a premier gathering for legal scholars, educators, practitioners, and aspiring academics to engage in discussions centered on race, law, justice, and public policy.

The conference will feature keynote conversations, scholarly panels, works-in-progress workshops, mentoring opportunities, and networking events. Participants will explore how legal scholarship can address challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technologies and evolving democratic institutions. The agenda includes concurrent panels and roundtables, plenary luncheons, and a conference gala with a keynote dinner.

Seattle University School of Law is offering an early-bird registration rate of $250 for those who register by December 31, 2026; standard registration will be $350 starting January 1, 2027. The conference is open to law faculty, legal scholars, practitioners, law students, law school administrators, aspiring law professors, researchers from allied disciplines, and others engaged in scholarship addressing race, justice, law, and public policy.
