FutureLaw 2017 is the fifth annual conference hosted by CodeX – the Stanford Center for Legal Informatics, focusing on the transformative impact of technology on the legal profession and the law itself. This event brings together academics, entrepreneurs, lawyers, investors, policymakers, and engineers who are at the forefront of the tech-driven evolution of our legal system.

The conference features a series of panel sessions and presentations covering topics such as the perils and promise of predictive analytics in law, rule systems, the rise of legal chatbots, the ABA report on the future of legal services, the importance of matter standards for law firms, and legal education reform in the age of the robolawyer. These discussions aim to provide insights into the current trends and future directions of legal technology.

Attendees have the opportunity to engage with interactive displays from organizations like Measures for Justice, showcasing a sneak preview of its Criminal Justice Data Portal, and WITNESS, which trains activists to use video effectively for human rights advocacy. These exhibits offer hands-on experiences with cutting-edge tools and methodologies in the legal tech space.

FutureLaw 2017 is ideal for legal professionals, technologists, educators, and policymakers interested in understanding and shaping the future of law through technology. The event provides a platform for networking, learning, and collaboration among those dedicated to innovating and improving the legal system.
