CLE Seminar: Keeping Pace with Privacy and AI Developments

The Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA) is hosting a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar titled "Keeping Pace with Privacy and AI Developments" on Tuesday, January 13, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. This virtual event is co-sponsored by the FCBA's Privacy and Data Security Committee and the Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Robotics Committee.

The seminar will feature two panel discussions. The first panel, "AI and Privacy: Perspectives from Policymakers and Regulators," will explore recent federal and state developments in AI and privacy regulation, including the Administration's AI Action Plan and various legislative proposals. The second panel, "AI and Privacy: Perspectives from Industry," will discuss how businesses are addressing privacy challenges associated with AI, focusing on practical applications, compliance issues, and the evolving regulatory environment.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from notable speakers such as Kaitlyn Karpenko, Assistant Attorney General at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office; Senator James Maroney, Senate Deputy Majority Leader of Connecticut; and Edgar Rivas, Senior Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper. Industry perspectives will be provided by experts including Rudy Brioché, Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University; Paul Eisler, Vice President of Cybersecurity at USTelecom; Tatiana Rice, Senior Director for U.S. Legislation at the Future of Privacy Forum; and David Valdez, Vice President of Privacy, Cybersecurity & AI at CTIA.

This seminar is designed for legal professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders interested in the intersection of privacy and artificial intelligence. Participants will gain valuable insights into current regulatory trends and industry practices, enhancing their understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this rapidly evolving field.
